The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 18 is an automatic chronograph with a distinctive vintage look, which was based on Jack Heuer’s Carrera design. The watch is inspired by the original bi-compax chronograph of the sixties, with two black counters (a chronograph counter at 9 o’clock and the seconds sub-counter at 3 o’clock position). The silvered dial is rimmed by a telemeter scale on the flange, which can be used to measure distance based on the speed of perceived sound. Telemeters were once used to measure distance of artillery fire, but nowadays they can help you to tell, for example, how far from you is an approaching thunderstorm.

This beautiful timepiece is made of polished steel, and it measures 39mm in diameter. The spherical scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the dial from shocks, while the sapphire back provides a glimpse onto the movement. The high-performance Calibre 18 is graced with Côtes de Genève motif on the oscillating mass, and it is sealed against the ingress of water to up to 100 meters. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and promises about 40 hours of power reserve. The watch is mounted on a black perforated leather strap with folding clasp.
